CONSULTATIONS
Medicare
In order to receive the Medicare rebate, patients must ensure that they have a valid and current referral. It is the patient’s responsibility to obtain an appropriate referral. Most GP referrals last for 12 months and Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months.
We are able to lodge a claim with Medicare on your behalf. However, we lodge the claim online and it can take up to 48 hours for the Medicare rebate to be paid into your account.
DVA Patients
Veteran Gold cardholders are fully covered for all consultations and procedures. White cardholders are generally covered for consultations but not necessarily for surgical procedures. Our staff will check whether your coverage is adequate before your procedure so you are fully informed.
Bulk Billing
As we are a Private Practice, Bulk Billing is generally not available for non-skin cancer related dermatological consultations. If financial issues are a restriction for accessing necessary treatment, the Doctors may give exceptions.
Cancellation Fees
A cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged if patients do not cancel or reschedule before 48 hours (2 Business days) of the scheduled appointment. Exceptions may apply.
