Skin Cancer Day Surgery is a specialist dermatology day hospital in Ashwood dedicated to the high quality treatment of skin cancers, sun damage and pre-cancerous spots. SCDS is certified and accredited to AS/NZS ISO 9001-2016: Quality Management Systems- Requirements and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS, 2nd Edition 2021).

Robyn Wall

Robyn joined the SCDS in August 2013. After completing her Division 1 nursing training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 1987, Robyn has worked in varied roles and management positions in both the public and private hospital setting, Department of Health VIC and Healthcare Consulting.
Sepi Weerasinghe
CEO
Sepi has been actively managing SCDS since its inception in 2009 and from 2018 has held the position of CEO. She has a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University and a Bachelor of Social Work from La Trobe University. Sepi works closely with the Practice Manager and the Director of Nursing to ensure the strategic and operational management of the practice.

Dr. David Gill
Dermatologist
Dr Gill completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 1991. After working as a General Practitioner for a few years, he decided to specialise in dermatology. Concurrently, he began the dermatology training program in Victoria in 1998, and completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from Monash University. He attained his Fellowship from the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2001.
After working for a few years as a dermatologist, David chose to sub-specialise in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment. In 2010, he travelled to the United States of America to complete further examinations in Mohs micrographic surgery. He was awarded a Fellowship of the American Society of Mohs Surgery in 2010, and has also been recognised as an accredited trainer of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Currently Dr Gill practices privately at Hawthorn East and Ashwood, he also sees patients publicly at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Dr. Amit Verma
Dermatologist
Dr Amit Verma is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Amit completed his dermatology training in major Victorian hospitals including St Vincent’s Hospital and The Alfred Hospital. He attained a highly sought after scholarship allowing him to complete a Clinical Fellowship at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology (London), where he worked with world leading experts in skin cancer, surgery, genetic skin disorders, eczema, psoriasis and acne.
Amit was awarded the inaugural Harvey Rotstein Registrar Award by the Victorian Faculty of Dermatologists in recognition of his clinical excellence, collegiality and integrity over the course of his training.
He is involved in teaching of dermatology trainees and has published several research articles in internationally recognised medical journals.
After working both in private practice and at The Alfred Hospital as a Consultant for two years, Amit completed an additional Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery in Perth with internationally renowned Mohs Surgeon, Associate Professor Carl Vinciullo. Amit is an Australian-accredited Mohs Micrographic Surgeon and was also recently admitted into the American College of Mohs Surgeons in recognition of his expertise in this area.
Dr. Harini Bala
Dermatologist
Dr Harini Bala is a consultant dermatologist and a fellow of The Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD). who is committed to providing holistic care to patients.
She completed her training in leading tertiary hospitals in Melbourne including St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (VCCC) and Austin Hospital. Dr Bala has also held positions at the Victorian Melanoma Service at the Alfred Hospital as well as worked in areas of contact dermatitis and transplant dermatology at the Skin Health Institute, Melbourne.
Dr Bala is passionate about research having published several papers both in national and international journals and was awarded the John Fewings Prize at the Australasian Scientific Meeting for her work in contact dermatitis.
Her interests include skin cancer management, hair and general dermatology.
Dr. Sara De Menezes
Dermatologist
Dr Sara De Menezes will begin seeing her patients at the Skin Cancer Day Surgery from 6th February 2025.
